Bindaas: A Bengali Action Drama Film
Bindaas is a 2014 Bengali film directed by Rajiv Kumar Biswas and starring Dev, Sayantika Banerjee, Srabanti Chatterjee and Chiranjeet Chakraborty. It is a remake of the 2013 Telugu film Mirchi, which was also directed by Biswas. The film was produced by Shree Venkatesh Films and Jalsha Movies Production, and was released on 25 July 2014.
The film tells the story of Abhi (Dev), a cool-headed musician who falls in love with Kajol (Sayantika), a girl who is being chased by a gang of goons. He saves her from them and becomes friends with her. However, she asks him to leave her as she cannot bear the pain of separation if their relationship develops further. He then goes back to India and changes the mind of Kajol's brother, who is a violent and conservative person. He also goes to his village, where he reveals his true identity as the son of their rival family. He tries to make peace between the two families, but faces many challenges and dangers. He also reunites with his childhood love Anjali (Srabanti), who is Kajol's cousin.

The film was a commercial success, grossing over 20 crore at the box office. It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the performances of the lead actors, the music and the action sequences, but criticized the screenplay, the direction and the editing. Soundtrack
The soundtrack of the film was composed by Savvy Gupta, Arindam Chatterjee, Habib Wahid and Devi Sri Prasad. The lyrics were written by Riddhi Barua, Prasenjit Mallick, Raja Chanda and Chandrani Ganguly. The songs were sung by Zubeen Garg, Monali Thakur, Arindam Chatterjee, Akriti Kakkar, Nakash Aziz, Neha Kakkar and Habib Wahid. The soundtrack album was released on 10 July 2014 by Shree Venkatesh Films.

Review and Reception
The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the performances of the lead actors, the music and the action sequences, but criticized the screenplay, the direction and the editing. The film was rated 2.5 out of 5 stars by The Times of India, which stated that "Bindaas is a typical masala entertainer that tries to cash in on Dev's star power, but fails to impress with its lack of originality and coherence". The film was also criticized for being a scene-by-scene copy of the original Telugu film Mirchi, without any adaptation to the Bengali culture or sensibility.
